A (Project) Blog
I've been doing weird little projects and discovering interesting things for years. This is a catalogue of some of them, and a slow motion stream of consciousness.
Welcome to dresdengray. In this fierce and bizarre new world full of demagogues, machine spirits, and isolation, I find it’s often difficult to reach out. This, I think is partly due to my own short falls and fascination with making things in favor of human connection, but also due to how much technology has inserted itself as a self appointed mediator in most human to human interactions.
While some of the mediations are wonderful, I find myself more and more repulsed by the modern internet. So much of it is all built to maximize engagement in service to advertising, with a side of AI to make sure the show and the rage never stops. In this space, I want to do things a little differently. I want to show some of the hard bits, the slow, sometimes meandering process of building things. I want to contribute to how the internet used to be, to make space for slow ideas and passion projects that last longer than a tictoc video.
Critically, I want to write these pages without filtering my ideas through AI. Despite being a web page written in 2026, I want this to be a space for humans, by a human. Perhaps the idea of writing a blog in 2026 is quixotic: I’m not really interested in allowing the unfiltered internet to add comments to these posts. But if you have my phone or email or discord, and you want to chat more about any of these things, or if you’re doing something similar and want to bounce ideas around, please reach out!
